The Fires of Beltane

Brudei, Clan Chieftain of the Clan Bruîd, extends a formal invitation to Bears to come to a celebration of Beltane in 1108 hosted by the Clan Bruîd.
A clan in the high northern Grampians is being plagued by an unknown horde. Iorsa, Clan Chief of the Clan of the Eagle has formally requested the aid of the People of the Bear through her messenger encountered at the Dragons winter feast. An army was sent into the area to investigate but wasn’t entirely successful. Laird Dougie Mac Finn and Brudei of the Clan Bruîd will lead a group of the finest Caledonians to a rendezvous point to meet the clan and discuss aid.
The Bears will find themselves involved in a war with the Lost Legion, trapped in time through magic now lost to Caledonians. By gathering information and paying attention, the Bears will be able to work out how to reactivate the magic of the Picts, and use the Legion’s own magic against it. There will be a banquet and fire ceremony on Saturday night to celebrate Beltane, as per the original invitation.
We ran this LRP weekend for 60 players and 40 crew. The pictures are up on Flickr (follow the blogroll link). As far as we can establish, a good time was had by all, and several people commented that it was the best sanctioned event they had ever been to.
